As-Salama
Our Ecosystem
As-Salama – from the Arabic word, “salam” which means safety or security - is an investment- and philanthropy-based ecosystem that emphasises wealth and charitable giving as being complementary
Our Mission
Shariah-compliant investing and high-impact philanthropic projects, building synergies in Australia and internationally
Our Vision
The premier shariah-compliant investment and philanthropy partner generating globally-relevant positive social impacts in Australia
It is about the pursuit of richness both in the material and spiritual sense, based on the overarching view that we should not be obsessed with wealth but, rather, balance our love between worldly and otherworldly gains.
By espousing such principles as part of a parallel and complementary set of activities, As-Salama offers the investor-philanthropist the critical peace of mind that an equilibrium is achieved and maintained by his or her principled decisions and actions.
Twin Pillars
As-Salama's structure and activities are based on two pillars
Investment Stewardship

Firstly, Investment Stewardship which operates the As-Salama ecosystem overall and promotes a wide range of financial and philanthropic offerings to the global Muslim community. It is led by Wattle Advisors Australia Pty Ltd (WAA) which carries out investor relationship management where investors will be closely engaged by a relationship manager throughout their journey as investor-philanthropists.
In the Investment arm WAA works with the As-Salama Shariah Finance Board and specialist shariah finance advisors which oversee compliance with shariah of all activities undertaken within the ecosystem, including of the financial products offered by and investment activities conducted within As-Salama.
Second, Philanthropic Stewardship which oversees and operates charitable activities. The centrepiece is the As-Salama Foundation which is an Islamic charity to be established as a Public Ancillary Fund registered and constituted under Australian laws and governed by the board of directors of a not-for-profit trustee company (As-Salama Ltd).
The As-Salama Foundation is being established for charitable purposes, namely, the collection and distribution of donations to other charitable organisations that are endorsed as Deductible Gift Recipients (DGRs) by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
